I was inspired here and here to make some bird ornaments for my tree and for gifts this year. I just finished up this small batch of nine.

As it turns out, Krista has just opened up her Etsy shop and is stocking her bird ornaments! Check it out!

These were fun to make. I found the linen at JoAnns and just really liked the color. I thought it would look nice against the evergreen branches. Then I used bits of wool blend felt for the beaks and wings along with some of my favorite scraps. The wings are attached with odds and ends buttons. I don't believe that any two match!
Oh I just LOVE these :) In the newest issue of Inspirations magazine they have a cute felt robin pattern for the kids and we've got a bunch cut out for sewing, but this makes me want to make an adult version *grin*.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty!
ReplyDeletei love your birds! they will be so pretty in your tree!
ReplyDeleteThese remind me of the Christmas ornaments that two sisters from my hometown church made every year to give to the kids in the church. We looked forward to these every year. I still have them. There are birds, lambs, camels, angels, etc. They are all so special. Your birds are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThose are just so cute! I love the linen with the cotton bits and buttons.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You are so amazing! This "small batch" might take me 9 days to make! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty Amy! I love all of the details. And JoAnn's had mustard linen? Score!
